The shadow of the political disputes of Eritreans in Israel: two foreign nationals from Eritrea, supporters of the administration were arrested while armed by policemen of the Ayalon region, on suspicion of organizing for an attack on Eritreans who oppose the regime

Two foreign nationals from Eritrea aged 33 and 35, who live in south Tel Aviv, were arrested tonight with ammunition and assault weapons. From a preliminary investigation it is suspected that those involved, supporters of the regime, tried to attack their opponents. It also turned out that they had organized ahead of time for the attack, which was supposed to be carried out on a political basis following the differences of opinion regarding the regime in Eritrea.

As you may recall, in September of last year violent riots took place in Tel Aviv between the opponents of the Eritrean regime and the supporters of the government. The opponents wore blue while the supporters wore red. The demonstrators began to riot, they threw stones and stabbed with knives. The police used live fire, at least 135 injured about 30 police officers, and at least 39 were arrested. Such an event could easily have happened again yesterday (Sunday) early in the morning. However, the MGB fighters attached to the South Tel Aviv Police managed to thwart the incident and arrest the suspects.
